I chose the backing today!

Unfortunately the day was chock full – I sent my son to school and after two hours I took him to the doctors where she advised he go to the emergency room and get more help.
So my afternoon plans go pushed back and the report I planned on writing today was not written, in fact nothing on the list really got done 😛
But the boy is going to be okay.

But I didn’t. I’m short two.
When I laid them all out:

What an insane colorful mess!!

I was in a weird staring mode and powered through making these six tonight:

We had an extra kid for the last 3 days and a sick one too and somehow I haven’t been to school at all this week and haven’t even done any homework. I feel like I don’t even care. I’m tired of caring when no one else did and now I’m too bored/tired/distracted and O wish I still had my job (lol but not as a co-op).
Sigh
I like the quilting so far though.
I’m debating whether to use up the same fabrics on the back or whether to get one colour/pattern for it or even to get the extra wide backing fabric…and I think maybe bamboo batting but we will see.
Anyways the man does *needs snuggles now 😉

So change of pace tonight: knitting

The local library is doing this thing:

And then they join all the squares together and ?display? the blanket!

So

I dove right in and a couple of knit 2 purl 2’s later:

A square!
My sick son is on the inhalers now and feeling much better 🙂 \o/

I am tired. Tired of waking up to get everyone else going- tired of caring about everyone’s feelings and about who wants to do what.
Mostly tired of stressing about things I can’t control. I feel like I am giving up on myself a bunch – more like giving in to everyone else’s priorities.
My little world vies for my attention – then screams and rants- hollers and raves. Sigh.
I did more cutting last night (to finish the 9 patches). And said eff homework – had a sick kid anyways – so stayed in & sewed today.

I think I’m tired of fishing and football and weekend plans- I am not excited to do whatever anyone has planned for me. I do not even want thanksgiving. I’m sure I’ll be home tomorrow – Hayden’s cough is not friendly and his breathing is heavy and wheezy. Poor kid 😦 I sat with him for a long time while he tried to fall asleep.
I hope he is much better tomorrow.
I worked most of the way through my stack of 3.5″ squares – only have 5 squares left to make!

IMG_9238.JPG
A couple days back I pulled all my squares (pre 9 patches) and laid them out:

IMG_9232.JPG
So tomorrow I will sew up the remaining 5 9-patches & then all that’s left is the final 6 half triangle squares (which I still have to cut for – and I really wish I had a proper workbench and much larger cutting mat for that particular pleasure)
After a good sleep, I hope my optimistic happy self returns to replace this particular grinch! Oh well I’m sure it’s just the 15 degree temperature drop 🙂

Making making making. I really should be focusing on school.

Stayed up late last night sewing after taking the wee boy to the sushi 8.

I decided today that I didn’t care – grumpy grump – it’s cold – I’m sleepy – just wanna sew.

So I ignored homework – screw setting up files – it doesn’t matter right now. I just need peace.

I cut fabric for 5.5″ squares – than assembled them (some of them into half triangle squares and than into blocks:

The first one is very busy.

The second 1 is my favourite of the day! The contrast is good & it totally is an envelope \o/

My chickens are eating grass!!!!
I sewed until the bobber? No! Bobbin! Ran out. That’s why the sewing stopped. That’s why I’m in bed – Abu know it’s not that bad outside but it’s way way colder than it’s been in months!
Overall feeling happy and exhausted! Happy living people!

So after spending 5 hours in the car today I managed to make just one block. Just 1. It’s okay – I’m just being over tired now.
But this is it-

I like it.
🙂 now I need to clean the litter and shower and crash cause tomorrow is a very early morning – again!

It had been a whole week since I managed to sew. School & dinners & chores & shopping and almost* always putting very one else first 😉

But tonight I took some time and made a block! I watched 2 episodes of Bones. It is some awful hour (11:00pm) and considering I have been awake since 4:15 I’d say it is a miracle I’m not snoozin in my dinner hours ago!
I made this green on whatever block tonight (I meant whatever on green I think):

I was afraid it was going to look stupid- but I like it!
I made this 1 last weekend:

IMG_9123.JPG

I should probably pick up the pace if I want to get anywhere. I was originally going to do all pinwheels In between the 9 patches and 4 Patches. Now I’m playing with half squares every time,

Well then…

It turns out that Friday night was a night of good news in varying forms for me. Firstly I acquired some evidence for my case – and things were already looking really good for me – therefore I have icing for the cake? Or just more skeletons in the closet? Not sure because sometimes having all the things I knew about brought into the light makes me feel so foolish for staying so long. Secondly my lovely Christopher was blessed in just the perfect way (I won’t go into details) but it lead to a happier and more chaotic weekend than originally anticipated.

So I stayed up stupid late tonight making 4 patches:

I made 16 of them.
Area Stark enjoyed my blocks,

As did Pumpkin Pi.

And then General Khan heard me talking to the kitties and had to get in on the action!

IMG_9066.JPG

So I feel good about my progress. I have a total of 20 blocks of 56, so 1/3 of the way there!

Ok collapsing time!
